We are pleased to announce that the Florida Water Environment Association recently awarded two of our wastewater treatment facilities with the 2006 Earle B. Phelps Award. Phelps awards are given to the wastewater treatment facilities that maintain the highest level of pollutant removal, evaluation of facility operation and maintenance.
The award namesake, Earle B Phelps, 1876-1953, was a pioneer in environmental engineering. The American Public Health Association recognized his many contributions to sanitary science when he was posthumously awarded the Albert T. Lasker Award in 1954.
We are very proud of winning such a prestigious award. The two facilities and staff recognized for their performance include:
Facility Treatment Category Finish

We trust members of the community will share the deep sense of pride we experienced upon learning of the awards. We also would like to publicly share our appreciation of our staff who contributes so much to maintaining the quality of such an important resource as the St. Johns River.
