Public Notice
Effective March 8, 2009, new landscape watering restrictions go into effect for the use of potable water. Due to the environmental benefit of reclaimed water and eliminating discharge to the St. Johns River and its tributaries, there is no restriction on the use of reclaimed water for landscape irrigation. If you irrigate with reclaimed water, the new water restrictions do not apply.
If you are not sure if you have reclaimed water, you may use these tips:
-
Irrigation systems using reclaimed water often have light purple piping for the rain sensor & control box. The water meter will also have a purple register.
-
Check your water bill. There will be a base facility and usage charge for reclaimed water.
-
Mandatory lawn watering restrictions specify the days when you may water. These days depend on whether you have an odd or even numbered address, and the time of year.
