Current Construction Projects

The Clay County Utility Authority is always working to provide better utility services to our customers and to expand our service area, while causing as little inconvenience as possible. The Authority currently has construction crews working on projects in the following areas:

Foxwood - Meter Retrofitting

New “smart meters” are being installed.  These new meters use technology to read water meters and store the readings in a computer as an operator drives down the road!  The meter reader does not have to leave the vehicle.  In the long run, this new system will reduce labor cost and virtually eliminate data entry errors.

CR739/Henley Road Wastewater force main extension from CR218 to Asbury Plantation

Our construction crew is continuing to work on the above referenced wastewater force main installation.  We have directionally drilled all segments of the force main that would have otherwise caused major disruption to the area neighborhoods.  We are now in the process of connecting all of these directional drills.  We anticipate that this work along Henley Road will take approximately four weeks to complete with the dress up and clean up taking approximately two additional weeks.  We are taking extreme precautions to make sure that we limit the disruption to the neighborhood.  Thanks for your patience.

Upcoming wastewater main construction along Green Road

This is to advise you that the Clay County Utility Authority's subcontractors, for clearing, erosion control, and directional drilling, will begin construction along Green Road within the next few days to complete a wastewater main project in this area.  The duration of construction may extend for approximately the next few months.

Whenever you have any new construction along an existing developed road, it is impossible to keep from inconveniencing people to a certain extent as we excavate to install our mains.  All of our proposed installations paralleling roadways will be within existing County Road right-of-ways or in easements.

We want you to know it is our desire to minimize any inconvenience to you and your business, and it is certainly our intent to restore the area in front of your property to as near its present condition as is reasonably practical.

Our construction foreman will attempt to contact you prior to construction across the front of your property, so you can coordinate access in and out, and so we can coordinate the restoration of the driveways and grassed areas in front of your property.  In instances where there are existing sprinkler systems, it would be helpful if you could review the location of these facilities with our foreman, so he can take every precaution in trying to avoid breaking your irrigation lines.  In the event we cut an irrigation line, we will certainly make the repair as soon as possible.
